Community Salary Packaging – Outsourced Service

You can salary package your salary deductions onto the Community Salary Packaging Everyday Purchase Card which works through the VISA network. The card is technically a credit card however it works similarly like a debit card in that you will only have access to the funds available on the Salary Packaging Card.

The card can be used to purchase anything that is able to be paid on the VISA Network throughout Australia. This means you can use the card to pay for items such as (not an exclusive list):

  • Car expenses
    – Fuel
    – Servicing/ Maintenance
    – Tyres
  • Insurances
    – Private Health Insurance
    – Life Inurance
    – Home & Contents Insurance
    – Car Insurance
  • Groceries
  • Electricity / Gas
  • Phone / Internet Expenses
  • Travel (International & Domestic)
  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Rates
    – Council
    – Water
  • School Fees / Childcare
  • Vehicle Registration
  • Any other general expenses that can be paid on the VISA network

The card allows you (or your additional card holder) to spend your salary deductions as they are paid onto your card. Your available balance adjusts depending on how much has been paid onto your card compared to how much you have spent using the card.

You can check your card balance online or by using the phone to dial into your card account. You will not be able to make any cash withdrawals by using the card at either ATM machines or EFTPOS machines, and you cannot setup any direct debit payments on the account as a result of ATO restrictions.

Any unspent funds available on the card at the end of a salary packaging / FBT year (i.e. 31 March) will reduce the amount you can salary package in the next FBT year.
